PORT SUNLIGHT WHEELERS ‘B’ RUNS LIST

This run is intended for riders less fit/young/aggressive who want a Club run they can complete. The suggested runs below will, as-far-as is reasonable, be based on the ‘A’ run thus keeping as much of a single identity for the Club and a guide to riders of what they can manage.

Mike Wright will be leader of the ‘B’ runs, unless something takes priority when, he hopes, that someone will take his place and lead the ‘B’ run and follow his practice. Mike will indicate, when ‘A’ and ‘B’ runs are together, it is appropriate for the ‘B’ run to let the ‘A’ riders go.

Runs to leave the Mills no later than 10.15 a.m. All ‘regulations’ applying to ‘A’ runs apply to ‘B’ runs.

Sunday 8th.November Ruthin Café.
Mancot, Altami, Rhydymyn, Cilcain. Return Old Nanty Garth, Llandegla, Dobs Hill.

This is a ‘good’ test of what can be done! An early climb; Mancot, might split the group? It shouldn’t so early in the ride.

Sunday 15th.November Press Heath Café.
Huxley, Beeston, Wrenbury cum Frith, Whitchurch. Return: Tilstock, Higher Wick, Malpas, Tilston, Farndon.

Mike Wright will be attending his brother’s 60th. birthday. Will someone take on leadership of ‘B’ run please? It shouldn’t be difficult so long as the ‘A’ run leader exercises a little gentle control of some of his/her ‘troops’.

Sunday 22nd. November Whistle Stop Café Ruddland.
Halkyns, Tremeirchion, Cwm. Return – Rhualt, Bodfari, London Bridge, New Brighton.

This run will test the idea of doing ‘A’ and ‘B’ runs as-far-as possible together. It is not wise for people to stand around waiting for others especially if the weather is cold or wet. It may be that it will be a matter of meeting up at ‘Whistle Stop’, having started out together and the same on the return, or ‘B’ run starting out from the Mills and starting the return from ‘Whistle Stop’ earlier than the ‘A’ run?

Sunday 29th. November.
Llangollen. Hawardon, Llandegla. Return – Panorama, Ruabon, Holt, Farndon.

Again it may be better if the ‘B’ run starts from the Mills and from Llangollen earlier than the ‘A’ run. Earlier would be about 15 minutes.

Sunday 6th. December Audlum.
Capenhurst, Waverton, Beeston, Banbury, Audlum. Return – Wrenbury, Cholmondley, Harthill, Tattenhall.

This one we should all be able to do together. It’s the easy side of Harthill and unless some ‘A’ run riders are preparing for training runs after Christmas there should be no problems.

Sunday 13th. Candle Factory Christmas Lunch.
Gone are the days of racing back to the Mills after such lunches and the Ale Run.

Sunday 20th. Clatterbridge Christmas ‘10’. Followed by the Ale Run.
Can ‘B’ run riders do it in teams?

Riders, ‘A’ or ‘B’ who wish to turn back early should either tell Roy Sumner or Mike Wright or whoever is taking the runs either at the start or, if they decide during the ride, that they are tuning short and that they are OK.

Well in Poll, you are now officially not a "B" rider, that was a tough ride yesterday. You did well to get round, and you can now tick off another couple of climbs to add to London Bridge, namely The Horshoe and Panorama.
